Staging: I have 7 years experience as a Staging Show Technical Director. The last 3 years at Jack Morton were spent developing and building the Staging Department from proposal to reality. When I began as a staff Technical Director, JMC had exclusively hired freelance TDs. My mandate was to prove the benefit of having staff Technical Directors and also to leverage the volume of our staging work. I developed the PSP (Preferred Staging Partnership Program), a limited group of Strategic Staging Vendors (Audio, Video, and Lighting) who have long-term relationships with JMC. I negotiated greater discounts for a greater share of the JMC Staging Work with all of the PSP vendors. The additional benefits of ht PSP program beyond pricing concessions are: increased margins for staging jobs, competitive pricing advantage, effective and more efficient working process with our vendors, upgraded equipment at no extra charge when available, and a strategic level of respect and mutual cooperation. My primary responsibilities were as follows: - Technical Direct Corporate Events, Staging, and Trade Show Booths. I developed relationships with and tech directed or budgeted shows for every JMC office in the US. - Negotiate with Vendors to Maximize our Discounts on Equipment Costs - Manage and Recruit Both Staff and Freelance TDs - Volume Discount Initiative - Manage Client Expectations and Develop Appropriate Solutions - Budget and Staging Cost Analysis for Shows - Maximize Staff Tech Directors Billing - PSP Program and Vendor Development
Production: I have ten years of production experience from 1985 to 1995 as a Computer Artist and Department Manager. My primary responsibilities were as follows: - Evaluate Equipment and make Purchasing Recommendations - Produce Computer Graphics – Macromedia Director Programming - Interface with Producers and Clients to Facilitate Graphic Needs and Execute Production - Onsite/Show Computer Graphic Artist - Set, Evaluate and Maintain Quality Standards - Manage Production Flow and Scheduling - Recruit and Train New Employees and Freelance Artists
